Woodrow “Woody” Thompson Started His Career at an early age As A trainee for Lyle Bardo’s Orchestra And Singers, Dancer 's With Patrica And Stanley Mason Kahn’s “Youth Of America” On Stage. sponsored by San Francisco Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. While a Principal Dancer And Singer in San Francisco’s longest running dance show, Ann Garvin’s “Dance Between the Lines,” he was discovered by a talent scout who invited him to a private audition at the Curran Theater in San Francisco for Michael Bennett’s International Broadway touring Company of “A Chorus Line.” He was selected to play the role of "Ritchie" and toured with this Company for many Years. Later on Mr. Thompson Toured with “Lila Deneken’ Produced By Herberto Navaro Productions. He toured all over Mexico in various cities including Campeche ,, Mexico City, and Cancun, just to name a few. Subsequently, Mr. Thompson traveled to Japan Performing his own “Cotton Club Revue” at the “Shanghai Jaja Club” for the Rengaya Company. He performed nightly in Nagoya, Japan doing his Cotton Club Revue and he also taught Tap Dancing and Singing Lessons for Japanese and International Students. Mr. Thompson then toured Africa Working In Sun City” as a Principle Dancer and Dance Captain In “Ron Lewis’s” And “Roger Minami“ “Extravaganza 6”. He then moved onto Cape town where he started his own dance company called “Ad Art Dance Company” wherein he choreographed for various dance companies and high-end fashion shows. In Germany Mr. Thompson Also worked with Domino Blue Productions all over Europe, including Greece, Italy, Austria and Turkey, Bulgaria. His German credits include: Choreographer and the role of Frankenfurter in "The Rocky Horror Show” And Assisted Rosita Steinhauser in " La Cage Aux Folles In Augsburg, Germany, He was a Featured Performer Deutsche Film Preis, in “Theater Des Westerns” in Berlin, Germany ; The Metropolitan Opera production of "Porgy and Bess" and “Cabaret” at the Theatre des Westens” in Berlin. He has also performed the role Hud In the Musical "Hair" at Theatre Bielefeld in Kassel Staats Theatre. Mr Thompson also performed the role of Chantal, in "La Cage Aux Folles" at Theater Augsburg and Jacob in Bern, Switzerland . As a featured dancer he has appeared in "Aida" at the Deutsche Opera and in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph And The Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat" in the role of Juda (Stella Productions), and in the role as Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar" at The Musikalische Komodie in Liepzig, Germany and also choreographed the musical "Pico", in Hamburg. He choreographed "Flip Flop And Fly", a Rock-n-Roll Acrobatic Formation, and the group went on to take 1st place at the Acrobatic Formation World Championship in Vienna, Austria. Woodrow Thompson Is also A recording Artist with various record companies: “dee-jay recordings”,”next century records”,”upbeat records”,”midnight groove recordings”,”storm records”,”tenor records”,”Music mail tontrager GmgH”, “sony music entertainment,Inc”.”spray records”,MFN records,Mr Thompson Was One of the Vocalist on the Cd Opium the Opium Cd is an enhanced Cd containing a full Audio Program as well as Multimedia computer files The Opium Cd was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for the Best new Age album recorded at Spiral Subwave in Sante fe, New Mexico Additionally, Mr.Thompson has performed with Wynton Marsalis as a baritone soloist in the production "All Rise" with The Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Claudio Abbado.. presently Mr. Thompson resides in Berkeley, California Teaching and Singing and coaching Private Students and has worked with the Masterworks Chorale Society,with Dr.Bryan Baker And "Into The Woods With Fabulous Director Donna Davis And providing and consulting with Various Corporate events also Mr Thompson Worked with Mr.Jack Wood and would like to Thank Him for His Loving Support and Gary And Sandy for their Support and advice and Baayork Lee, and Janet Tyler for the friendship and the Love and positive influence and Debbie and Bob Sternbach And His wonderful Loving Caring Mother Thanks God for Bringing These wonderful mentor's into His Life!!!!!
